 This is an acrylic co-polymer coating designed to be a sealant and can be used in new construction and retrofit applications. The coating can be rolled or sprayed and rolled. This product is typically used to embed the polyester fabric membrane over flat wall areas. Coverage rate for this product is approximately one hundred square feet per gallon per coat.
Most applications require two applications of Base Kote at this rate. A paint job is not sufficient. Even though the coating will cover at less than half the specified rate, this is not sufficient for a waterproofing membrane. Two passes of Base Kote should dry to a flexible monolithic membrane of approximately 20 mils over a smooth surface. Rough surfaces require more coating than smooth surfaces. A Base Kote Membrane system (fabric embed reinforcing) should measure approximately 30 dry mils, completely covering the weave of the fabric.
