Fabric embed procedure: Wet area to be treated with Base Kote product utilizing a brush, roller or airless spray apparatus. Immediately inlay fabric into wet coating, working out all wrinkles. Apply a second pass of Base Kote over the fabric completely saturating the fabric. Upon drying, a second application of the Base Kote should be applied at the approximate rate of 100 square feet per gallon or 13 wet mils average. In new construction over any sheathing type substrate such as OSB, Plywood and Exterior Gypsum products, the FlexRock Polyester must be applied on joints first with the entire surface then being reinforced creating a double layer over flat joints and single layer all other areas.

This process creates a fully adhered self-sealing system that will not crack or turn loose from the substrate. Additionally it eliminates labor for close inspections of less-than-perfect surfaces on OSB and plywood. When strands of the OSB delaminate, it causes a blister that may not be sealed with the Base Kote product alone. The same is true with even exterior grade plywood products. When the FlexRock Polyester is applied to the entire area, the chance of wood delaminations or blistering becoming a problem is eliminated. Also the fabric acts as a sort of gauge for the proper amount of Base Kote being applied. When the fabric is fully adhered and the weave is fully covered (not able to see the stitch lines), then the proper amount of Base Kote is present. Overall the entire system is stronger and more puncture resistant when reinforced with the FlexRock Polyester membrane.
