Inclement weather conditions or low temperatures should pre-empt the application of any of the FlexRock line of products. Surface and ambient temperatures should be 40 degrees F. and rising. Other factors affecting curing of the products include humidity conditions, sunlight exposure and wind. For example, when temperatures are cool but a dry wind is present, the system will cure faster than when there is no wind or humidity is high. During cooler temperature applications care should be given to apply areas that will receive no direct sunlight first. This allows more curing time for these areas since it would not be possible to make the application late in the day if freezing weather or rain were expected before curing could take place. The products are designed to "set" very quickly, allowing applications to continue in marginal conditions.

When working in warmer temperatures, care should be given during the embedding process to apply the FlexRock Polyester immediately into the first layer of Base Kote. If allowed to sit for a few minutes, the Base Kote product will already be "set" and the fabric will not adhere to the surface. If this occurs, another application of the Base Kote must be applied before installing the FlexRock Polyester. This is especially noticeable when working over OSB because the wood product immediately begins to absorb moisture from the Base Kote, causing an even faster "set."

When applying finishes, once the product begins to "skin," nothing more can be done to the surface until it is set. Keeping the surface moist with a misting bottle will lengthen working time. Always work from a start point moving one direction.
